Buffalo Bills Week 5 fantasy start/sit: Frank Gore is an all-time great
Stars Fading Fast
Players to avoid this week
Josh Allen – QB, BUF
It was the eleventh hour when Josh Allen got the okay to play this weekend. Coming back from a concussion is never easy, but Allen will be on the field leading the 3-1 Bills.
Against the Patriots, Allen did not have his best game. He racked up 153 yards and three interceptions through the air and rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The New England defense has been number one in fantasy this season which does not sound good for the Buffalo QB.
As mentioned, the Titans are only surrendering 16 points to opposing offenses. The Bills clawed their way to ten points last week, so their ceiling for more is not that high. Tennessee is coming off a convincing victory against the Falcons, who have a better QB than Allen in Matt Ryan.
Keep the Buffalo boy wonder on the bench this week because the matchup is not favorable and is just coming back from injury. I expect him to score 13 points max throwing one touchdown and two interceptions.
John Brown – WR, BUF
John Brown has been the number one wide receiver for Josh Allen and the Buffalo offense. He has good speed and is a reliable pass catcher. Brown almost scored a touchdown to take the lead Sunday but he was not able to get it past the one-yard line.
Even with Josh Allen back, the opposing defense still hurts Brown’s fantasy stock. He is known for being a vertical threat, like the Jets Robby Anderson. Brown can help with intermediate receptions, which will win help win the game, but the Titans will not allow that to happen.
Brown is averaging under ten fantasy points per game which is okay for a flex player. Allen still has the threat to throw it deep and one great play can get you ten points. He is a high risk, high reward this week. Brown will have four receptions for 43 yards and drops a pass in the end zone.
Delanie Walker – TE, TEN
Delanie Walker has been a great signing for the Titans ever since he got to Nashville in 2013. He did miss all of 2018 due to an ankle injury, but that has not physically slowed him down so far this season. There however have been some hiccups along the way.
2019 has been up and down for the 14-year vet. He is averaging seven points per game and is coming off a poor game last week. He finished the game one reception for four yards. Something to keep an eye on is that he did miss practice on Wednesday. It could be a veteran rest day, but sitting him regardless is the best option.
A.J Brown and Corey Davis look to be Mariota’s preferred targets now, which leaves Walker as the odd man out. Sean McDermott knows how dangerous Walker can be, so he will make sure to cover him and limit his effectiveness. I am projecting five receptions for 36 yards.
