For this week Daniel Jones is the king of the Big Apple. New York Giants fans hope his reign lasts for a long time.

Daniel Jones has taken the New York sports market by storm, he started his first game last Sunday against Tampa and came back to win from an 18 point deficit. This is when Daniel Jones set the world on fire. He is the man who dethroned Eli Manning and won over the hearts of so many New York Giants fans in one game.

Daniel Jones for this week has been able to walk around New York/Jersey with his head held high and chest poked out. I will be the first to tell you I was truly excited to see a New York Giants quarterback rush for two touchdowns in the same game.

I think Daniel Jones is a talented young man, however, I hold firm that I don’t believe he was worth the sixth overall pick (especially after just one win) I also don’t think he’s the end all be all of the next 10-15 years of Giants QB greatness.

What Giants fan do have to remember is that even though Jones finished strong, he did contribute to putting the Giants in that original deficit with his turnovers. Also, some perspective is needed, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t that great of a football team.

I’m sure your thinking wow this guy Justin is really hating on the New York Giants newest star, that isn’t accurate in the slightest. I hope more than most that GM Dave Gettleman gets the last laugh. Dwayne Haskins doesn’t light it up for the Redskins and Jones walks in the spotlight leading the G-Men to ten wins this year.

What I will say and I’m sure we can all agree on is that the Giants have found a quarterback that is more mobile than Eli Manning, (not that hard to do). Fans can actually get a good idea of what Pat Shurmur can scheme up offensively. No Matter what, barring injury, it’s the Daniel Jones show for the rest of the year.

Giants fans desperately don’t want this to be another case of Lin-sanity like the Knicks had several years ago. Instead, they hope that this kid may be the future and the Giants front office got everything correct about him. Further, Dave Gettleman fell in love with the right guy and this doesn’t turn into a horrible high school romance that ends badly.
