The Brooklyn Nets are primed to compete for an NBA championship by 2020-21. Here are 5 attainable goals this upcoming season for the retooled Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets are a lock again for the playoffs this upcoming season after having their most successful off-season in team history.

When Kevin Durant returns, whether it is in nine months or an entire year, the Nets will automatically become Eastern Conference contenders. Interestingly enough, team Sean Marks and the Nets have decided not to release the timeline of KD’s recovery and possible return before the end of next season, leaving his status up in the air until further notice. which will surely shift the championship odds considerably.

In the meantime, Kyrie Irving will take the lead while KD recovers with the help from an underrated supporting cast. However, since they will be shorthanded this season, the Nets can use this opportunity to build solid chemistry with their newcomers before they’re back to full strength the subsequent year.

According to the Vegas O/U spread released in August, the Nets are ranked twenty-fifth (tied with Boston and Detroit) in “strength of schedule” (SOS) and have one of the easiest slates in the NBA. This is a breath of fresh air for Coach Kenny Atkinson since he can focus on improving his team and preparing them for another playoff run.

The Nets undoubtedly are on an upward trajectory and can finally put their poor trade decisions behind them as they have established themselves among the league’s elite for the next several years. Here are five attainable goals for the Nets next season.
