Looking to rebound after a crushing 17-16 defeat in Week 1, the New York Jets look to even their record on Monday night against Cleveland. Here are four keys to Gang Green Victory.

The New York Jets are coming off a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills, blowing a 16-0 lead due to poor coaching and untimely injuries. Trevor Siemian & Co. will have a chance to bounce back under the bright lights of MetLife Stadium against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

Both of Monday night’s teams had disappointing losses in Week 1. Cleveland fell to the Tennessee Titans by a score of 43-13. While many hailed the Browns as playoff contenders in the preseason, it’s clear that they are still a flawed team.

Here are four keys in order for the New York Jets to walk off the field Monday with a record of 1-1.

Pressure Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield has had an amazing NFL debut since he was thrust into the Browns starting lineup in 2018, but one glaring weakness in his game is that he struggles to produce against a good defensive front seven. In his career, the Cleveland is a poor 1-3 in games where he’s been sacked more than two times and he has a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 5/6.

Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley is expected to play on Monday after suffering a groin injury against the Bills. His presence should definitely help the Jets cause because they stumbled without him. It’s fair to say he is the key to the entire defense.

His playmaking ability and football instincts are extremely valuable to the team, and it cannot be overstated. New Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was the interim head coach last year. He knows he has to dial up blitz packages on almost every down against his former team.
