Kentucky Wildcats at Florida Gators

Zachary Bachar

With Kentucky and Florida both entering the stadium at 2-0, this game could get very interesting. If Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops comes in with the proper game plan against Florida’s stout defense, it’s possible that an upset may occur. Admittedly this is a big “if” and the Gators should remain unbeaten after an impressive win to open the season over the Miami Hurricanes. The final score should be around 30-20 in favor of Florida.

We know Florida has a good football team this season, they are in contention to win the SEC East every year. The Gators have started 2-0 in 2019, including an impressive win over Miami to kick off the college football season.

Kentucky has been a thorn in Florida’s side for years. They don’t always win, but they aren’t pushovers either. Additionally, head coach Mark Stoops has turned the program into a winner. The Wildcats just missed cracking the Coach’s Poll Top-25 this week. UK is at home and that will be enough to pull off an upset in a squeaker.

If you’re a Florida fan, you probably remember what happened in Gainesville when these two teams met a year ago. Heck, how could you forget? The Wildcats marched in and stole a win for the first time in decades, ending a winning streak held by the Gators that no one expected to be snapped in 2018.

Revenge is on the menu and the Gators will be ordering it up all night long, especially with Kentucky’s Terry Wilson out for the year. This isn’t the same Kentucky team from a year ago, so the Gators should have no problem shutting down the Wildcats’ offense and scoring at will. Final Score: Florida 38, Kentucky 17

Florida will control the time of possession against Kentucky and virtually the game. The Gators defense will be poised to keep the UK offense off the field. Florida will win this game by a significant margin.
