This is week one of our football predictions. Find out who we like in the New York Giants, New York Jets, Rutgers, and NFL Sunday Night Football games.

This season Empire Writes Back will run an internal contest predicting the games our readers are interested in. We will always have our takes on the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights games for the upcoming weekend. Additionally, we will add the Sunday Night NFL Game of the Week unless a local team is in it, then we’ll do Monday night.

Picking the games each week will be co-site expert Ed Stein, co-site expert Ed Easton Jr., a rotating member of the Empire Writes Back staff, and a special guest. You get each person’s outright winner of the game, consider anything else such as a score or spread as a bonus. We will keep track of the results and the winner gets the same points as they hand out on “Who’s Line is it Anyway.”

Joining the Ed and Ed for the weekend of September 7-8 is our rotating Empire Writes Back staff member, Matthew Travis. This week’s guest is Dan Schmelzer who is the site expert at NFL Mocks.

On the docket for the weekend of September 7-8 is an AFC East showdown, Buffalo at the New York Jets. NFC East rivals meet as New York Giants head to Dallas. Its also week one of Big 10 play, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are at Iowa. Finally, it’s a Sunday Night NFL clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.
