August

Only one game in August and it’s one the Knights have to win. Their opponent on Friday, August 30 is UMass. The Minutemen are also coming off a poor season, which cost their head coach his job. Regardless of who the starting quarterback is, Sitkowski or Carter, Rutgers will come out of the chute hot and plenty of players will get in the game.

August record: 1-0.

September

The Scarlet Knights play three games in September, two are against teams ranked in the preseason top-20 and both are on the road. The month opens with a trip to #20 Iowa on the September 7. After putting a hurting on UMass in game one, Rutgers gets a reality check at Kinnick Stadium.

After an off week, Boston College from the ACC comes to New Jersey on September 21. Another must-win game for Rutgers. It’s supposedly another down year for the Eagles. Hopefully, the fans show up to SHI Stadium, because it will come down to home-field advantage. This will be RU’s second victory.

Coming off a tough “W” at home, the Scarlet Knights head to The Big House in Ann Arbor, MI, September 28 for a meeting with #7 Michigan. Last year the Wolverines embarrassed Rutgers in front of the home fans 42-7. It probably won’t get much better than that this season either.

September record 1-2. Season record 2-2
