In a series that could very well be a preview of the Fall Classic, the New York Yankees showed up and were very impressive. It just goes to show you that these Bronx Bombers can compete with anyone.

The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers faced off in a three-game series this past weekend which the Bombers managed to win. The Yankees took two of three games from the Dodgers, after being swept in Oakland earlier last week, this was a very good sign.

The Yankees looked great on every front, hitting, starting pitching, fielding and the bullpen also did a great job. The Yankees played great on every front and if they can show up like that when October rolls around, there won’t be a single team capable of stopping them.

Not only that, but we also saw Aaron Judge play the best series of his season. Judge three home runs and drove in four RBI on five total hits, ultimately helping his team to two wins in three games against the best team in the National League.

Unfortunately for the New York Yankees however, Didi Gregorius took a pitch to the shoulder and was forced to leave Sunday’s game. He is now considered day-to-day. What that means remains to be seen but with the Bombers track record this season that probably means we won’t see Gregorius until mid-September.

More from New York Yankees

Hopefully that’s not the case, but nonetheless, the Yankees were very impressive this weekend and it just goes to show you what this team is truly capable. The Bronx Bombers scored 16 total runs, letting up only four in the process. They did it while wearing those hideous black Players Weekend uniforms.

But hey, if the Yankees play the way they did this past weekend for the rest of the year, they can wear red jerseys with names on the back for all I care. Well not really, but this weekend’s games proved to many including yours truly that the Yankees are a very impressive team capable of beating any team in Major League Baseball.

As a result, we know if this were to be the World Series matchup in October, Aaron Boone’s men are more than capable of winning the series. However, one of the only questions we don’t have the answer to is whether or not the Yankees can even get there. The Houston Astros are a formidable roadblock to that plan.

It’s a question we may not get an answer to for quite some time, but rest assured if the Yankees play how they did this weekend, they won’t lose a series to anyone.
