New York Giants: Three bold fantasy predictions for 2019
By Ed Stein
All over America, fantasy football managers are planning for their upcoming drafts. Here are three bold predictions concerning the New York Giants.
New York Giants fans, if you are anything like me, this is the time of year to start crunching the numbers in preparation for your 2019 fantasy football draft(s). Every year you face many of the same questions. What happens if someone takes my running back before I pick? When should I draft my quarterback? Is it better to use a receiver or back in my flex slot? Etc.
None of those questions will be answered today. Instead, here are some bold predictions concerning the New York Giants in terms of fantasy football performance.
3. Aldrick Rosas will not put up as many points as last year
Last season, the New York Giants tied with Houston for the fourth-worst Red Zone touchdown percentage at 50 percent. As a result, Big Blue kicker Aldrick Rosas took full advantage of his teams inability to get six points by connecting on 32-of-33 field-goal attempts. His 127 points, put him eighth in the NFL. It was a career year.
Rosas will be as accurate as ever in 2019, he just won’t have as many opportunities to put up three points. The Giants will be more efficient in the Red Zone this time around. There are several reasons to believe this will happen.
First of all, the G-Men have a better offensive line to both protect the passer and open holes for running back Saquon Barkley. When it comes to Barkley he should take a big step up in 2019, which will bring with it more touchdowns. Finally, in this version of the West Coast offense, Eli Manning has become increasingly more efficient, that trend should continue.
