Brooklyn Nets: Taurean Prince will be the x-factor this season
By Alan Mena
Threat from beyond the arc
As he has shown early in his career, Prince has already solidified himself as an above-average shooter from beyond the arc. It’s a skill that will be extremely valuable in the Nets offense.
Over the course of his three seasons in the NBA, Prince’s three-point percentage has risen from 32.4%, 38.5%, and 39%, respectively. This improvement beyond the arc is another positive in Prince’s abilities to knock down big shots and be a constant threat from downtown on a more talented Nets roster.
In fifty-five appearances last season, Prince attempted 53 percent (315/594) of his total field goals attempted. Furthermore, Prince’s treys accounted for 47 percent (123/262) of his total field goals made.

Since the fourth-year pro is going to be a part of such a talented team, his role this upcoming season will not change much. He is expected to start, move off-the-ball (especially beyond the arc) and utilize his versatility on both ends of the floor.
Conclusion
At only twenty-five years old, Prince faces his biggest challenge yet as he will instantly become an integral piece of this Nets team. Coach Atkinson has found the perfect player to replace DeMarre Carroll due to their similarities on both ends of the floor.
Back in June, Prince shared his thoughts on two players that he has followed since entering the NBA back in 2016. Unsurprisingly, he was referring to Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant, specifically mentioning KD’s aggressiveness, mindset, and efficiency.
While it may not come as a surprise as to which players Prince chose, he now has the opportunity to learn from KD himself and hopefully win a championship with him in the near future. If Prince can stay healthy and continue expanding his game, he will be a key asset and the x-factor for this upcoming seasons’ Nets team.
