Jason Vargas

First and foremost, I have to give credit where credit is due. Jason Vargas has bounced back nicely since his nightmare year of  2018, where he posted a 5.77 ERA in 20 games. He has become an excellent fifth starter out in New York ane now Vargas is posting a 3-4 record, with a 3.77 ERA, he looks more comfortable in his role, and his numbers have exceeded any expectation anyone would have had. In terms of what would, the Mets get back is not very promising. Of course, we have to remember Vargas is now 36 with stats that don’t scream ace, but he can be utilized to eat up some innings late in the game. The Milwaukee Brewers should be a team to look at Vargas to see if he can help ease the 4.61 ERA this team is posting while amid a division race with a very close National League Central. The Mets can save some money and receive a lower end prospect in return.

Todd Frazier

Todd Frazier had a shaky start to begin the 2019 season but has slowly improved has the year has gone on. Todd Frazier has battled back and became a useful trade chip for the Mets. Frazier this year has batted .256 with 11 home runs and 34 runs batted in. He would flourish in an American Leauge team more since his defense is not his strongest asset. Teams in the American Leauge like the Indians could use him as a late-inning designated hitter. Another team that could use him not just for his hitting but for his veteran presence could be a very young team contending like the Atlanta Braves. Frazier has always been a great locker room player and any young team like that could still use him for a late playoff push.
