It was recently announced that New York Yankees outfielder, Clint Frazier was optioned to Triple-A. Quite frankly, he deserves it.

This article is tough to write, especially because Clint Frazier has played such a key role in the success of the New York Yankees this season, but not of late. If anything, he’s been a hindrance to the ball club.

When this season started, the 24-year-old had been in and out of the Major Leagues due to various complications such as injuries or the overwhelming amount of talent on the Yankees. When multiple star outfielders in Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Aaron Hicks were all out from their respective injuries, it gave Frazier the best opportunity he may ever have to show his talents to the Yankees.

On April 20th against the Kansas City Royals, Frazier went 3-for-5 and raised his batting average to the highest it’s ever been as a pro at .351. He had a great April, showing everyone that maybe he could’ve belonged, even with a fully healthy New York Yankees outfield.

Everything was looking great for Frazier, but as May hit, his numbers took a massive slide and so did his attitude. Lately, he had been able to recover some of his form at the plate. But due to his recent actions and the new acquisition of slugger, Edwin Encarnacion, it only made sense for him to get sent down.
