New York Mets look more like a disaster than a championship team

Talk the talk, and walk the walk
When acquired, Diaz was the best closer in the game. He has already blown three save attempts and nearly had a fourth. Fortunately, Jeff McNeil was alert to throw a Cardinal runner at home to end Saturday night’s game. His downfall started with the Dodgers and It seems to me the fireballer is tipping his pitches. The rest of the bullpen has been a nightmare.
Injuries have played havoc with manager Mickey Callaway‘s lineup. Cano has been on the injured list twice. Brandon Nimmo is out with a bulging disc in his neck. Michael Conforto suffered a concussion a few weeks ago. Other players with stints on the IL include Justin Wilson, Todd Frazier, Lowrie, as well as both ace pitchers Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard.
So with a new business model and all these changes, fans expected the Mets to have a new positive approach. A philosophy that focuses on better treatment of their players, increased reliance on analytics, improved scouting, and the development of more homegrown talent.
However, when you openly state the Amazins are the team to beat as BVW did and say bring it on, you leave yourself open to ridicule. New York Mets fans tend to eat their own if the team is not winning. It’s a tough situation when they not only compete in a division with hated teams like the Philly, Atlanta, and Washington but also must contend with the New York media market and as well as against a team in the same city that seems to have the deep pockets to win.
