New York Knicks: 2019 free agency primer
By Alan Mena
5. Jeremy Lamb
Jeremy Lamb just had his best season yet with the Charlotte Hornets.
This season he averaged 15.3 points (career-high), 5.5 rebounds (career-high), 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals (career-high), on 44 FG%, 34 3P%, 88.8 FT%, and 28.5 minutes per game in 79 (career-high 55 starts) appearances.
One fact we know is that Lamb can score the basketball. He can create his own shot and can be reliable primarily on the offensive end off the bench or as a starter. At only 27-years-old, Lamb will continue to use his quickness to his advantage on offense while aiming to improve his impact on the defensive end.
Lamb will undoubtedly be on the radar of many teams this summer.
4. Tobias Harris
As much as I would like to see Tobias Harris finally settle down and play for one team for the rest of his career, he would get (yet another) fresh start in New York.
Coming off of his best season with the Los Angeles Clippers before being surprisingly dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers, Harris averaged 20.1 points (career-high), 7.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, on 49.6 FG%, 43.4 3PT %, 87.7 FT%, and 34.6 minutes per game in fifty-five appearances (LAC).
In twenty-seven games with the 76ers, Harris averaged 18.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, on 46.6 FG%, 32.6 3PT%, 84.1 FT%, in 35 minutes a game.
At only 26-years-old, Harris has shown his scoring and rebounding ability (on several teams) on a consistent level and will be actively pursued in July.
It is important to note that in comparison to his 27 games with the 76ers, his numbers did not decrease as much as one would expect. Sharing the spotlight with three other starts is difficult enough, but Harris has proved time and time again his willingness and ability to transition well into any team he plays for.
