Conflict of interest?

This one is on Brodie Van Wagenen, Cano was his client and now is his employee. Brodie worked for him, now Cano works for Brodie. So Brodie came to Callaway’s defense Monday afternoon and set the record straight.

Many New York Mets fans want Callaway gone. For who? Joe Girardi, Buck Showalter, Dusty Baker? It is evident now this is not happening any time soon. Step back from your keyboards and accept reality. The Wilpons won’t hire another manager and pay top dollar while still paying Callaway.

This is not all solely Callaway’s fault, he is who he is. The Mets knew when they hired him, he was an easy-going player’s guy. It’s the culture that needs to change, which is Van Wagenen’s job. Kumbaya time is over and it’s time for someone to step up and manage.

You can’t sing Kumbaya while Rome is burning. What the Amazins need is a return to old-fashioned respect for authority. “I am the manager and you are not. I get data and suggestions but I make the decisions. If you don’t like it, be careful you don’t get splinters where you sit on the bench far away from my sight.”
