New York Jets: Grading Rounds 4-7 and Overall Draft
Final grade
I think the first two days were easily the better of the three but I’m just nitpicking. This draft compared to recent is a much more complete draft centered around needs, not sexy picks. The Jets really have a great nucleus going into next season and I for one am very excited to see what they can do with all of these new additions.
The offensive line and secondary were the biggest question marks heading into the draft and many fans were justifiably concerned. With new pickups such as Edoga and Austin, there really is an opportunity to bolster those developing holes.
New York got their version of Aaron Donald when they picked up Williams and it seems as though everything is falling into place. At this rate, they are more than likely going to be able to keep their promise to the fans when they said they were going to build around their young star in Sam Darnold.
It wasn’t a perfect draft but man, it was pretty darn close. As a Gang Green fan, I enjoyed going into the last day of the draft and still being happy with the picks. It made me realize that this team is serious about winning which is something I can’t say for the other team playing in Metlife.
The Jets are finally on the come up and this is the season where the momentum in the AFC East could finally start to shift back to New York for the first time in years.
