After the curtains officially closed on the 2019 NFL Draft, there were plenty of smiles, laughs, and tears seen over the course of three days. For New York Jets fans, it was a lot of smiles.

Gang Green fans, stand up! For the first time in what seems like forever, the New York Jets have had a near perfect draft. You gotta feel happy for a franchise that has struggled to contend for so long and is now finally hitting some good luck in the rebuild.

After selecting defensive tackle, Quinnen Williams on the first day along with tackle, Chuma Edoga, and edge rusher, Jachai Polite the second day, it all came down to who they would pick on the third to fill out their team. These were the Jets final selections.

Round 4 – Trevon Wesco

B-. . TE. West Virginia. 121: TREVON WESCO

Trevon Wesco is a great run-blocking asset which should help new running back Le’Veon Bell if he’s given the opportunity to play. His stocky frame and blocking ability should be able to open up a lot of lanes for not just Bell but all their backs to break out into the open field. His only downside is being able to line up, run routes, and make big catches.

He struggles with the basic fundamentals of receiving and wasn’t much of a threat in the passing game during his time at West Virginia. In his three seasons with the Mountaineers, he was only able to compile 366 Yards and two touchdowns. He has his clear weaknesses, but the Jets don’t have a clear tight end, so Wesco will get his opportunity to shine in multiple occasions this season.
