It’s still unknown how the New York Giants will attack the 2019 NFL Draft, but these three scenarios are well within the realm of possibility.

The New York Giants have had an interesting offseason, to put it lightly, filled with blockbuster trades and a couple of head-scratching moves in free agency. Despite its busy offseason, though, Big Blue still hasn’t done enough to sufficiently build the competitive roster it promised its fanbase in 2019.

The G-Men still have a plethora of needs on both sides of the ball, but they’ll have one more good opportunity to round out their roster in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Giants own a league-high 12 draft picks, including three of the first 37 selections (No. 6, No. 17, No. 37), giving them more than enough capital to address their remaining needs.

How the Giants will end up doing so, however, has been hard to determine so far. The front office has been tight-lipped about its draft strategy for most of the offseason, but general manager Dave Gettleman’s comments in recent weeks may have a tipped the organization’s hand.

New York’s GM has made it clear that he intends to take the best player available, regardless of position, whenever the team is on the clock in the first round, insisting that “You can’t draft for need. You’ll get screwed every time. You’ll make a mistake.” A recent report coming straight out of the front office has also revealed that Gettleman is “crazed” about taking one of the draft’s top pass rushers with the sixth overall pick.

The above may not completely dictate how the Giants will approach things this weekend, but it does give us an idea as to what scenarios could happen depending on how the draft pans out.  Here are three predictions for New York’s 2019 NFL Draft.
