With the sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft, the New York Giants select Daniel Jones, quarterback, Duke University. General Manager David Gettleman has worked his tail off throwing teams off the scent that they are interested in quarterbacks. It’s clear though by their in-house visits they have their sights set on taking one early. My best bet would be Jones, the David Cutcliffe (a Manning-family favorite) protege is an ideal replacement for Eli Manning. He may be capped physically but he is a safer pick than Dwayne Haskins with a significantly lower ceiling and more experience.

Dwayne Haskins needs to be the guy that the New York Giants take with the sixth overall pick, and nobody else will make sense. With Eli Manning on a rapid decline physically, he still has an unbelievable knowledge of the game to teach any rookie. That rookie should be Haskins for the sole reason that he’s the most well-rounded pocket-passer out of this draft class.

The former Buckeye would learn well under Eli, as they draw comparisons to one another. Well, when Manning was young anyway. Composed in the pocket and can pick out passes in tight windows or can beat a defense deep with a cannon for an arm, Haskins would be a seamless transition out of the Manning era.
