New York Giants selection with the 17th overall pick – Roundtable
By Ed Stein
D.K. Metcalf
James Kattato, Empire Writes Back
If the Giants pick up Haskins with the sixth overall pick, they fill a massive void, but that only covers one hole in the leaky boat. With the loss of Odell Beckham Jr. and the 17th overall pick, Ole Miss Wideout, D.K. Metcalf would make the most sense for what the G-Men need. In a draft filled with athletic freaks, Metcalf truly shines above the rest.
His lengthy 6-3 frame coupled with his blazing speed and agility have scouts comparing him to an all-time great, Calvin Johnson. D.K. set the social media world on fire at the NFL Combine and is showing signs of being a generational talent. If he’s available, it would be hard for New York to pass up on him in my mind.
Greedy Williams
Justin Chaires, Empire Writes Back
Greedy Williams standing 6-3, 190-pounds brings the Giants a corner with great size, athletic ability, and ball-hawking skills. Logging 23 solo tackles 2 interceptions and 9 pass deflections in 2018. Teams had no choice but to game plan, to not throw his way.
Tested early during his first year as the full-time starter in college he quickly made a name for himself as a shutdown cornerback. An with his natural size and stride he can match-up well against the elite receivers in the league especially with Peppers locking down the back end of the defense.
