With the 17th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select… Our expert panel will tell you who it will be.

Five days to go until the NFL Draft begins on Thursday night in Nashville, Tennessee. The New York Giants have two picks in the first round, numbers six and 17. They have an opportunity to rebuild an undermanned team and leave their mark on this draft.

Big Blue has plenty of holes to fill on the roster. There are needs at defensive end, the secondary, defensive line, offensive line, wide receiver, and of course a successor to quarterback Eli Manning. Thankfully, this is a deep draft and the Giants can fill some of those needs with quality players.

We covered what the G-Men will do with the sixth pick in our last article, here we tackle number 17. Some of the players rumored to interest GM Dave Gettleman are tackles Jonah Williams (Alabama), Andre Dillard (Washington State), quarterback Daniel Jones (Duke), defensive end Clelin Ferrell (Clemson), and outside linebacker Bryan Burns (Boston College).

We polled our own contributors in addition to some guests from around the FanSided network and these are the results.

Overview

If the New York Giants keep their No. 17 overall selection, they will likely take the best available rated player, on their draft board. Once again, the defense should be a priority, but watch out for tackles Andre Dillard (Washington State), Jawan Taylor (Florida), or Jonah Williams (Alabama), if they’re available.

Otherwise, edge rusher Brian Burns (Florida State), defensive lineman Jerry Tillery (Notre Dame), or edge defender Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) would boost a lackluster pass rush. Also, because of medical concerns, key an eye on Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat, who could drop into the Giants lap.
