New York Jets: Three round mock draft internet compilation
By Ed Stein
Round three picks 68 and 93
At this point in the draft, it’s hard to have much of a consensus due to all the moving pieces involved but there are a few things that stand out. With the 68th pick, mock drafters are evenly split between defensive backs and offensive linemen. The only player who got more than one hit is Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little. Among the players “selected” in this spot, there are a few intriguing options.

We had an article a few weeks ago about the New York Jets gaping hole at center. Should Texas A&M center Eric McCoy make it to the third round, the Jets would be wise to pounce on him. He has great size at 6-4, 303 pounds plus he’s got a good football IQ and can control defensive lineman once he gets a hold on them. What he doesn’t do well, run block straight up, can be taught.
Other offensive linemen in this slot include Michael Deiter and David Edwards from Wisconsin as well as Yodney Cajuste (West Virginia). Miami cornerback Michael Jackson leads the rest of the defenders.
At 93, it’s almost universal that the Jets select a defensive back. Getting the most “love” is Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love. He runs a 4.54 40-yard dash which isn’t outstanding, nor is his 5-11 height. What he does well is read quarterbacks and close on the ball (20 passes defended). He can cover man but is far from a shutdown corner.
One thing is clear, the Jets are about to add some quality players to their roster.
