After a period with the FanSided blogs that began in 2011, this writer says goodbye to Empire Writes Back and the FanSided blog network.

Empire Writes Back fans, it’s the end of an era. It’s time to say goodbye.

You are reading my final article for both this site and for the FanSided network. As our co-expert John wrote the other day, it’s not out of any kind of problem with anyone. It’s simply time for me to do something else.

This journey for me started back in 2011 when I answered an ad to be a contributor at The Jet Press. The opportunity came at a very down time in my life and started me on the road to where we are today.

A year later, I took over as the editor (now would be called the expert) at the Jet Press. That brought me a lot of joy and a lot of great experience, including covering the draft in 2014 for FanSided.

More from Empire Writes Back

From there I spent time contributing to NFL Spin Zone, working as an expert for The Pewter Plank and finally here at Empire Writes Back.

It has been a great run here over the years, working with great writers and great teachers. I wouldn’t be the writer I am today if it wasn’t for the people here.

I have made a lot of connections but the best has been with you, the fans. Especially the Jets fans.

You are a passionate group, and that goes for all of you in the New York sports fan base. You love your teams and aren’t afraid to show it.

Keep loving your teams everyone. It’s your passion and excitement that makes this the greatest sports town in the world.

Islanders fans, enjoy this playoff run. There’s nothing better than when your team returns to the playoffs after a long hiatus.

Jets fans we are on our way to having that happen. Sam Darnold is here. Le’Veon Bell is here. Our time is coming.

Next. The Brian Burns profile. dark

Stay tuned. Fans that enjoy my work, especially Jets fans, make sure you are following me on Twitter here. You will see my work very, very soon, in a new location.

Bye for now, fans.
