Round Three, Pick 68: Andy  Isabella, WR, UMass

For the Jets next pick, they head to the northeast  for a potential weapon for Sam Darnold.

Andy Isabella had a solid career at UMass that peaked over his last two seasons. Isabella posted 1,000+ yards and double-digit touchdowns as both a junior and a senior.

102 receptions as a senior is a big number and it doesn’t matter the level of competition.

Isabella can fly; he posted a 4.31 forty yard dash at the NFL Combine. Coming in under seven seconds in the three cone drill showed us all how shifty he is as well.

He isn’t the largest of men, coming in at 5-9, 188 pounds. But, as we can tell by the numbers that he put up in college, height isn’t everything.

Isabella followed everything up by having a strong practice at the Senior Bowl and leading all receivers during the game with 79 yards and a touchdown.

He too will need to bulk up a bit. He never saw much press coverage in college, so his small size wouldn’t have been a factor. When being pushed around at the next level, a bit more weight will give him more of a chance to fight back.

But numbers are numbers, and Andy Isabella put up numbers. The Jets absolutely should take a shot at this guy on day two.
