With the 180th pick in the 6th round, Safety, Malik Gant, Marshall University

Malik Gant was an under the radar Free Safety that brings great size and ability and above average ball hawking skills. Standing in at 6’2 200 lbs he would be an excellent prospect to learn behind the current Giants veteran safety.

Gant brings with him some solid experience and racked 95 tackles, 8 pass break ups and two interceptions in 2018. He his unafraid to tackle and brings with him the security and size to lay the solid hits when he comes up to help tackle at the second level.

Giants would be getting a huge depth upgrade and a player geared towards development and promise in the future.

In the Seventh round with 232nd pick the Giants take Tight end Foster Moreau

Foster Moreau coming from LSU measures in at 6’6 259 lbs, after an impressive showing at the combine he followed it up with a great field workout at LSU’s pro day. Foster Brings with him sneaky speed, great catching ability and because he’s part of that SEC big boys group we all know that he his an above average Blocker in-line.

All those traits make Moreau perfect for the Giants he would give the team a much need additional option and would be more cost-effective than the millions being given to the current back-up tight end.

The Giants would be wise to allow Moreau and Evan Engram to continue to grow together and hopefully some shared techniques and training time together would aid both young Tight tends in their development.

With the 245th pick in the 7th round the Giants take Bryce Love Running Back Stanford

Bryce Love in the 7th round would be an above average steal, I don’t feel any team is very high on running backs this year based on the amount of defensive talent in the draft.

Love measures in at 5’10 202 lbs, with a nasty down hill running style and little more wiggle than most would think he would be an excellent third back to have with Gallman jr. and Barkley.  Love posses a little more speed than Wayne Gallman does and can provide that change of pace back to help keep Saquon Barkley fresh later into games.

The Giants should want to break the tendency of given Saquon 20 rushes and 5 passes every game because those stats look great in Madden but in real life that’s a great way to get a player hurt. Love’s first season he should see some good running time being apart of the 30 up 30 down club. The Giants can take a very low risk selection on a player they may end up getting great value for.

Wrapping things Up

All-in-all with this Mock Draft, the Giants solidify some weak spots on the team, added depth, talent and youth to a much beleaguered roster, and find themselves the potential of a few Possible Gems hiding out in the late round.

There is way too much to fix going into this draft but luckily, as I said in my earlier articles, this year is not about winning it’s about creating the proper foundation going forward, to set up this rebuild into fast motion.

The Giants in 2020 will have close to 100 million dollars in cap going into free agency, this will included having over 25 players on rookie contracts or minimum deals.

Filling out the Giants' needs this draft and who could they target. light. More Mock

The future begins to look very bright for the New York Giants team, I know everyone wants a quarterback in this draft but just remember the wrong quarterback sets your team back 3-4 years when drafted in the first round. As a Giants fan do you really want to waste those Saquon years with someone comparable to say Blaine Gabbert or Mark Sanchez?
