The 37th pick in the second round, Giants Select Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss

Greg Little falls just out of the first round but is another Great pick for the Giants and can play at a position of need.

Little, standing in at 6’6 and 325 lbs is a monster of men, has the build of an NFL tackle. Greg has all the makings of being a Pro Bowl right tackle in this league, He keeps good balance and does a good job of finishing his Blocks in a nasty way. The Giants could still add a veteran piece such as Mike Remmers for insurance.

Having a player of Little’s talent and size in the second round is called winning two years in a row, the Giants found their left guard of the future in the second last year. This year they find a great young right tackle to learn along side a pro bowl Right guard.

Supplemental 3rd Round pick

With the New York Giants original third round pick, the Giants select Sam Beal cornerback from Western Michigan. Sam Beal comes to the New York Giants via the supplemental draft last year. Beal stands at 6’1 190 lbs, he is a long, rangy corner with good ball hawking skills.

Beal was unable to play last year due to a shoulder injury which required season ending surgery, the beautiful thing about Beal’s situation is he was able to spend a whole year in the New York Giants weight room as well as sitting in on meetings; learning the defense and building chemistry with his teammates.

The Giants hope that Beal can bring another strong outside corner presence to supplement the loss of all the corners from the previous season. At this point, Beal would be in line to start opposite Jenkins.

With the 71st Pick the Giants acquired in the trade with Denver

The Giants select Jaylon Ferguson edge rusher from Louisiana Tech University.

Ferguson stands in at 6’5 271 lbs he’s currently the FBS record holder for sacks at 45, Jaylon was single-handed in keeping that Tech defense in games. Ferguson’s up front pressure was delivered constantly and continuously helping lead to several turnovers.

With this pick, the Giants bring in another great talent and someone who can start right away for this defense, the only reason he falls this far is due to the run on skill positions that I’m predicting for the second round. Giants need talent and adding Ferguson would be a great talent steal and make the first 3 rounds very successful.

With the 95th Overall pick the Giants Select Lamont Gaillard Center University of Georgia

Lamont Gaillard was the starting center at the University of Georgia, at 6’3 305 lbs he is mildly undersized at the Center position in the upward Height trending NFL. However, Gaillard brings with him the leadership and right mindset to be successful on this line.

Gaillard has a nasty Georgia finishing style and looks to punish with heavy and a strong base to move defenders off the snap. He may have to put on a little more muscle to compete with the nose tackles in the NFL but he should be great competition to push the current centers on this roster.

The Giants may have completed the offensive line with the pick earlier but now it’s about creating depth of talent at each position across the line and being prepared for injury when it does occur. As we all know with the Giants and injuries it’s not a matter of if just a matter of when, unless your Eli Manning that guy might live forever.
