Round One: Nick  Bosa, Edge, Ohio State

More from Empire Writes Back

This wasn’t a tough choice, as many of you can probably imagine. Quinnen Williams went number one and Josh Allen went number two.

Playing the role of Mike Maccagnan, I called this pick in before ten seconds came off our pretend clock.

The Jets need to find a pass rush. It is essential. Everyone always makes that comment, but it’s important to remember why.

How often have the Jets given a game up in the fourth quarter because they couldn’t close it out? It happened too often for us to think about.

If a defense can get to the quarterback consistently, it goes a long way to rectifying that problem.

There isn’t a lot to say about Nick Bosa that hasn’t already been said. In his last full season at Ohio State, he posted 16.5 TFLs and eight sacks.

It doesn’t matter that those are college numbers. The Jets haven’t boasted a player that can dominate like that since the days of John Abraham.

Bosa is coming off of an injury, but has been working hard and put up a solid performance at the Combine. The injury has fallen off the table as a concern for teams.

If this scenario breaks out this way, the Jets and the fans will be very happy to make this selection.
