Round Seven: Charles  Wright, OLB, Vanderbilt

Round seven is where teams take a flyer on guys, hoping they turn into something that can help in the coming years. The big flyer of this group is Charles Wright out of Vanderbilt.

The Jets need help out on the edge. Bosa is just one player. With Darron Lee clearly in his last days with the team, depth on the outside is important. The roster lacks so much talent that adding good football players is always a good thing.

2017 was a breakout year for Wright. In 11 games, he posted nine tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. Production like that could make him an absolute steal and a superb choice in the seventh round.

The biggest question will be whether or not Wright can stay healthy. Last year he posted 16 tackles in five games before missing the rest of the year due to injury. However, he still was able to post a career best 85.8 PFF grade in run defense.

Any choice, even as a flyer, would only be able to take place after a strict medical review. But if Wright is healthy the Jets could do a lot worse than giving this young man a shot.
