The University of Alabama has a reputation for producing fantastic NFL wide receivers and if the New York Giants wait until next year’s draft for Jerry Jeudy , they could have the next great one.

The New York Giants obviously have a hole at wide receiver now that they have traded away Odell Beckham Jr., but if they wait until next year’s draft for Jerry Jeudy, potentially getting the next Julio Jones.

The man I am referencing is University of Alabama wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy.  Jeudy is a shifty wide receiver (some film of him here) who helped lead the Crimson Tide into the National Championship in two consecutive seasons, winning one and losing one.

Jeudy who is without a doubt Bama’s number one receiver, is 6’1″, 192 pounds. Now not exactly Julio Jones measurements, but in terms of production, the comparison is there.

As you can see from the video above, Jerry Jeudy has insane moves and can stop on a dime. This will be key in the NFL when it comes to breaking and avoiding tackles.

Jeudy didn’t put up great numbers his freshman year due to the fact that Calvin Ridley was still suiting up for the Crimson Tide. However, in his sophomore year Jeudy won the 2018 Fred Biletnikoff Award for College Football’s top wide receiver.

This is an award that not even Julio Jones won at Alabama, so it just goes to show you the kind of potential that Jeudy brings to the table. Wide receivers such as Calvin Johnson, Amari Cooper, Larry Fitzgerald, Brandin Cooks, Michael Crabtree, Golden Tate and many others have taken home this award.

That kind of puts into perspective just how good Jerry Jeudy can be when he suits up in the NFL.

Jeudy can juke and run (watch highlights here) like nobody’s business and there is no reason why that shouldn’t be the case once he suits up in the NFL.

In his sophomore season at Alabama, Jerry Jeudy went for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns on 68 receptions. Jeudy has the ability to bring down any football that is tossed in his direction.

Pairing the explosive receiver from Bama with Sterling Shepard would make for a fantastic duo in New York. Adding these two to a new quarterback such as Dwayne Haskins and a newly reloaded offensive line? That is an offense that can do some damage.

Plus, we know the history of Alabama wide receivers in the NFL. Not only Julio Jones but also Amari Cooper, Ridley, Robert Foster, ArDarius Stewart, etc, are all names in the NFL who played wide out at Alabama. The sample size from recent history is already solid, Jeudy can be the next.

Not only that, we will see how much losing Odell impacts the Giants, by this time in 2020 we will know if the Giants will need to go out and snag Jeudy to replace what is a massive need.

Next. Everything you need to know about Le'Veon being a Jet. dark

So, passing on receivers this year such as D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown in this years draft, could be worth it if the Giants end up with Jerry Jeudy in next years draft.
