Le’Veon  Bell has signed on the dotted line and is a member of the New York Jets. After his conference call we learned the biggest influences on his arrival.

It’s real. It really is. Le’Veon Bell is a member of the New York Jets! It has finally happened. For anyone that thought it was a fantasy they just woke up from, the team put out a short video of Bell signing his contract.

I will not confirm or deny whether or not I watched the video over and over for about ten minutes, and then made my wife watch it for the next five minutes.

As we talked about at length yesterday, Bell changes everything. He is insanely talented and he makes everybody on their offense better. He takes the load off of Sam Darnold and gives the offense a brilliant balance.

The Jets are leaps and bounds better than they were before.

But now that he is here, how did it happen? How did the Jets, the “second class citizens”, ever figure out a way to land the biggest playmaker on the free agent market? Mike Maccagnan never could have had it in him, right?

This is the same guy that signed Isaiah Crowell, Spencer Long and Trumaine Johnson last season. What happened?

The Jets held a conference call on Thursday night to introduce Bell to the local team reporters. One reason he gave for coming in is Darnold himself. He believes he can be the “security blanket” for him and that Darnold has a high ceiling.

Darnold wasn’t the only influence that played a part in Bell’s arrival. There is another member of the Jets roster that played a major role. It’s another young player that has galvanized the fan base and has been vocal in his attempts to bring players here.

Guess what? It worked:

At one point I was not a fan of what Adams was doing, even opining in private that it might be tampering.

I take it all back, and apologize to Mr. Adams.

Next. Le'Veon is all that matters. dark

Adams clearly is a passionate guy and a great recruiter. He’s a face of the team that other players clearly respect, otherwise they wouldn’t listen to him.

Maybe Jamal has found his calling for after his playing days are over. Who knows?

In any event, it’s real. Jets fans, you deserve to just soak it all in and enjoy. I don’t know about you but I wish it was time for the season already.
