After a ton of speculation about whether or not the New York Giants would trade Odell Beckham Jr., it is official. The Giants have parted ways with their star receiver and it is shocking and borderline disgusting.

If you are anything like me, you got the notification that the New York Giants had traded Odell Beckham Jr. and you simply fell to the floor in disgust and shock.

Not even seven months after the Giants signed Odell Beckham jr. to a five-year contract extension with $65 million in guaranteed cash, they have traded him to the Cleveland Browns. The Giants potentially trading Beckham is not something new to this offseason, it is something we have heard about for years, this season was apparently just the year it finally happened.

Although General Manager, Dave Gettleman had said on multiple occasions that the Giants weren’t going to trade their star receiver, reports were still circling about the Giants listening to offers, and apparently the Browns offer was too good to pass up.

The Giants received the 2019 17th overall pick, 2019 3rd round pick and defensive back, Jabrill Peppers in exchange for Odell Beckham jr. who had broken just about every wide receiver record you could think of in his five seasons with the Giants.

This means that the Giants now have the sixth pick and the 17th pick in this years draft which could mean one of two things. They will use the 17th pick to package it in hopes of trading for Josh Rosen, or they are preparing to draft a quarterback at six and potentially an offensive lineman at 17.

The Giants two positions they needed to fix before this trade were quarterback, and their offensive line, but now they obviously need a receiver as well.

In 59 games Beckham caught 390 passes for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns, which was good enough for three Pro Bowl appearances.

Beckham who was regarded as one of the top receivers in the league, was constantly under scrutiny because of his antics.

Whether it be reports that he was a bad character to have in the locker room, getting in fights with Josh Norman, or proposing to a kicking net, Beckham was always in headlines for something new. It was because of this that he was consistently the topic of trade rumors.

Giants fans were however put to ease with comments from Dave Gettleman who had said multiple times that the Giants didn’t sign Beckham to trade him, he was going to be around for quite some time.

Next. Giants are going to rebuild through the draft. dark

Well unfortunately that is not the case and it now looks as if Sterling Shepard is going to be the number one receiver for the New York Giants.
