Despite being one of the worst teams in the NBA for the last six seasons, the New York Knicks can primarily look forward to being led by Head Coach David Fizdale. Known around the league as the “Players’ Coach,” Fizdale will connect to his players and make sure he can build a winning culture in New York.

Although the Knicks shocked the NBA by trading Kristaps Porzingis and other key role players before the trade deadline, they have set themselves up for a complete rebuild around Zion Williamson or another lottery pick and building a contender around one or two superstars.

Fizdale has a massive opportunity to round up some major talent this offseason as the Knicks will have the most cap space available among the entire NBA. This season should be looked at as a stepping stone into the promising future as Fizdale will have a much better Knicks team by next season.

Fizdale’s positive reputation around the NBA will definitely give him a great chance to round up some much-needed talent for the Knicks this summer.

Fizdale has notable championship experience as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat, which will be a big plus for when the Knicks are ready to make a deep playoff run in a few years. As a coach who can relate to his players, Fizdale was the perfect candidate to turn the Knicks’ franchise around as he will continue to revamp the offense and defense of this young team.
