Left Field: Grade A-

This is more or less the same as right field. Conforto is going to be the guy in left. The best part is he has a resurgence in the second half last season and will not finally head into a season after an entirely normal offseason.

Once Conforto came back from his injury last year, he has not looked back. Conforto could be in for his second career all-star game. That would be a huge accomplishment. However, it would also just flat-out help the Mets be a better team. If he can lead the team in home runs again and simply be that guy he is supposed to, I don’t see how the Mets don’t at least put up a fight for the Division well into the summer.

Here is to official depth chart in left:

Must Read. 3 Realistic Goals for Michael Conforto in 2019. light

  1. Conforto
  2. McNeil
  3. Nimmo
  4. Yoenis Cespedes

Yeah, you can pretty much ignore that whole Cespedes thing. I don’t think he will be a factor unit at least the end of the summer. I do not see a scenario where he plays or threats to take away any playing time from anyone.

Overall, the left field is another position that will be a log jam. If everyone stays healthy and then Cespedes comes back to get healthy, then a lot of decisions are going to have to be made. However, there should be no issues with Michael Conforto, this the grade.
