The New York Red Bulls are almost entirely the same as they were last season. However, this is MLS and the more things stay the same, the more they change. Here are the biggest storylines to follow for RBNY this year.

The New York Red Bulls will enter their MLS Regular Season opener in Columbus on Saturday evening already having played in two matches, both legs of the CONCACAF Champions League. The Red Bulls made quick work of their opponents there but the MLS season quickly awaits.

However, no matter what challenge is thrown at the Red Bulls, they always seem to be ready. The standard this club is set to, and the standard they have set for themselves is impressive. This will be the 24th season in MLS history and the Red Bulls will be looking to make the playoffs for the 20th time and for the 10th consecutive year. In a forever changing league, the Red Bulls of 10 years ago are vastly different from the squad now.

But, this is MLS. There are now 23 other teams the in league as the league welcomes Cincinnati. With world-class players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney back on to MLS this season, reigning MVP Josef Martinez not leaving Atlanta United, and the countless other moves made around the league, nothing is given for the Red Bulls to succeed, even though they set themselves up to. Still, the challenge is there.

So, there is a lot going on around the league and within the Red Bulls themselves. But nothing is going to try to stop the Red Bulls from making this 2019 season a memorable one. The club could finally win all the trophies they deserve or they could fall flat on their face, regardless we have you covered.

Here are the biggest storylines to watch as the Red Bulls, formerly known as the MetroStars, get set to begin the 2019 MLS Season.
