With the New York Mets Pitchers and Catchers set to report to Port St. Lucie this week, the start of the season is almost among us. What can Mets fans look for at this years’ spring training?

A new season is right around the corner, and the New York Mets are gearing up for what they hope to be a successful 2019 campaign.

The offseason was a busy one, not only by Mets standards (which admittedly we all know isn’t very high) but throughout the entire league.

High profile guys like Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz were brought in via trade.

A couple of 2018 all-stars, Wilson Ramos and Jed Lowrie, were also brought in through free agency, as well as the return of former all-star Jeurys Familia.

The team also added a ton of depth with the likes of Keon Broxton, J.D. Davis, Justin Wilson and more.

And lets not forget about the 2018 Mets holdovers, which includes 2018 Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom, flamethrower Noah Syndergaard, and young but talented Outfielders Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto.

With a roster of players both young and old, players returning from injury and minor league prospects vying for a roster spot, Mickey Callaway’s 2nd year will be sure to put him to the test.

There will be a lot of moving parts to this team, to say the least, and it will be very interesting to see how they all fit together as one cohesive (and hopefully winning) ball club.

Between finding the right place for talent to play all the way to even seeing the potential crowning of a new franchise player, Spring Training will teach us a lot.

With so much to be on the lookout for this spring, here are the 3 things to look out for starting this week in Port St. Lucie.
