With the Knicks 107-104 loss to the Cavs on Monday night, the New York Knicks have now lost a franchise record 17 straight games.

Can it get any worse for the New York Knicks?

The team has now hit a new franchise low with their 17th straight loss, beating out the 16 game horror show that occurred during the 2014-15 season.

Not only have these Knicks now etched their names in the history books (albeit for the wrong reasons), they have also lost a whopping 30 of their last 32 games.

The Knicks last win before this streak started was a December 1st win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

To put that into perspective, the Knicks were tied for 11th in the standings with the Brooklyn Nets and were 3.5 games behind the Magic for the 8th spot in the East the day after that win.

Currently, the Knicks are 10-46 and are 16.5 games behind the Pistons for the 8th seed in the East, and are 18 games behind the Nets.

They’re also an astounding 32 games behind the Bucks for first place in the East.

With a 10-46 record after 56 games, they are on pace to finish the season with just 14 wins. This would also set a franchise record for worst record in franchise history, beating out that same 2014-15 Knickerbocker squad that went 17-65.

As a Knicks fan myself, I honestly haven’t watched a game since Christmas Day and most likely won’t for the rest of the season. And why should I?

Yes, the Knicks do have some young exciting pieces and among them is the newly acquired Dennis Smith Jr, who has been playing well since his team debut on February 3rd.

That being said, it’s still extremely hard to watch this team right now. Even the Cavs, who had the same amount of losses as the Knicks did entering the game last night, found a way to beat us.

It’s also hard to imagine at this point that any free agent would want to sign with the team the way it is right now, much less superstars such as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The lottery odds of getting the number one pick in this year’s draft are also worse than before, with a new rule being implemented this year that only gives the worst team in the league a 14% chance at the top pick, down from 25% in previous years.

There are absolutely some bright spots on this team and I know that the future has a chance to be very bright.

dark. Next. Remembering a good Knicks moment this year, Trier's breakout game

The 2018-19 season has been nothing short of a disaster, however, and it is impossible to watch this team in its current form.
