New York Knicks: Three trade destinations for Enes Kanter
Oklahoma City Thunder
This just makes too much sense.
Kanter spent two season in Oklahoma City, playing alongside Steven Adams and Russell Westbrook.
He had his best season with the team in 2014 where he averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds. Oklahoma City’s window is starting to close and they do not want to waste another season of Russell Westbrook’s prime.
Both Paul George and Steven Adams are having great seasons. George, who was just named an All-Star, has scored at least 30 points in three of the team’s last four games.
Unfortunately, the Thunder are still one piece away from truly contending with the Golden State Warriors. Now is the time for the Thunder to push for another title opportunity.
Putting Kanter back into that starting lineup instantly makes the team better and his familiarity with the team will help make it an easy transition.
Adding Kanter also makes their team deeper than most other playoff teams having Jerami Grant now come off the bench.
In 32 minutes, Grant is averaging almost 13 points and five rebounds per game. Grant has contributed great defense to the team and is a strong piece for a playoff run.
The team could look to trade Terrence Ferguson before the deadline as they wait for Andre Roberson to return.
