New York Giants: Evaluating the Giants quarterback options for 2019
By Alex Jordan
Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray entered the NFL draft on Monday, despite the fact that the Oakland Athletics selected him in the 2018 MLB draft.
In his first season at Oklahoma, Murray threw for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns and ran for 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He led the Sooners to the College Football Playoffs semi-finals.
If the Giants replace Eli Manning, then Saquon Barkley would love to see Murray in blue. Barkley told TMZ Sports:
“I got to personally play with him in The Opening in high school — I played 7-on-7 with him. So, I know what he’s about and I know how talented he is. I think there’s a lot of talented quarterbacks in the class and all those guys have a great future.”
CBS Sports and Pro Football Focus both have the Giants selecting Murray in their latest mock drafts.
Site co-expert John Carroll Jr. thinks that the Giants should stay away from Murray because he could play baseball with the Athletics.
I, however, think that the Giants should go after Murray.
He is a great talent and could help the Giants become winners and make the playoffs.
The Giants should be willing to take the chance on a QB this season because you could argue that they are a QB away from contending.
The Giants could end up getting Murray if other teams that drat ahead of them get someone who we will talk about next.
