New York Mets: 3 realistic goals for Noah Syndergaard in 2019
When talking about the New York Mets, one of the first names that comes to mind is starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard aka “Thor.” After some injury filled seasons, here are three goals for Thor to aim for in 2019.
The trade rumors have finally calmed down and Noah Syndergaard is all set to go into 2019 in a New York Mets uniform. This will be his fourth with the team.
Noah Syndergaard has emerged himself as one of the faces of the New York Mets. He has a great presence on social media, in starring in movies and TV shows, oh, and he is a pretty solid pitcher.
However, he spent a lot of time in 2017 injured. He basically missed the entire season. This was after coming in hot in 2015 and being an All-Star in 2016.
Not much changed for Thor last season in terms of health.
While he still stared and finished the season strong, he missed time with fluke injures. Hand, foot and mouth disease? Really?
Then he lost more time due to a lingering blister and finger problem.
However, he still had an impressive season in spite of that all.
He finished 2017 with 13 wins, four losses, had a 3.03 ERA, and 155 strikeouts.
The best part is he started 25 games. That was a huge upgrade from his seven the year prior.
Now, 2019 gives him a breath of fresh air. His back injury from 2017 is long gone. He has all offseason to rid of odd diseases, and after a rumor filled offseason, should be ready to take 2019 head on.
He needs to prove to the Mets that they were silly for even letting rumors of him being traded leak. He can prove to the Mets they were silly to not make off-limits from the beginning.
He is still a huge draw to Mets fans too. He will be a fan favorite for as long as he in Queens. The Mets still have Noah Syndergaard bobblehead days as I write this.
So, it means a lot to the fans that he succeeds too.
But, how exactly can he show he is worth it, or even the outstanding pitcher he is hyped up to be?
By fulfilling all of most of these three goals during the 2019 season.
