The New York Jets have made their decision on the next head coach. It is former Dolphins coach Adam Gase, also former OC for the Broncos and Bears.

Well, the New York Jets have made their selection for the next head coach to lead the franchise into the future. However, it isn’t a selection that will go over very well.

Frankly, it very much reads as a “Same old Jets” hire. Take a look:

So, Adam Gase. The former head coach of the Miami Dolphins for the last three years is the new head man for Sam Darnold and company.

We will go in detail to our opinion on this in the morning, but it’s not a great hire.

In his one job as a head man, he went 23-25. He did win ten games his first year (sound familiar?) but it went off the rails from there.

Prior to his time in Miami, Gase spent time as various forms of an offensive assistant for the 49ers and the Lions before his big promotion.

He spent time in Denver with Peyton Manning as his offensive coordinator under John Fox. After that he followed Fox to the Bears as his offensive coordinator for one year prior to his hire by the Dolphins.

It didn’t end well for Gase, aside from the losing. He seems to have lost the locker room.

According to the Miami Herald, there were problems noted by various players who refused to be identified. It wasn’t a unanimous sentiment, but there were problems that can’t go without noting when talking about Gase as a coach.

The biggest concern with this decision is that is a similar one to the type the Jets have made through the years, other than the experience element.

No he isn’t a first year coach, but he isn’t exactly teeming with success either.

We will talk more in the morning, but what do you guys think? Comment here or on social media.
