Return to Nassau County

The Islanders beat the Blue Jackets in their first regular season game in NYCB Live also known as The Nassau Coliseum in December.

The win was not a typical win either. The Islanders took full advantage of the rowdy environment that had been eager to see them to come back from a 2-0 deficit.

This was another game where the Islanders had to win. Every game is essentially must win in the NHL, but this was too big a stage to lose.

Well, as destiny would have it, the Islanders did not lose. They rallied to win their first game in NYCB live this season, and in a few seasons.

The Islanders might still play in Barclays Center here and there, but their heart, soul, and passion is on Long Island.

That building is the Islanders. It will always be the Islanders and its history and tradition will be felt as the team moves onto Belmont for a bright future and new home.

But, the moment they took ice for the first time, even if they had lost, just being there again would have been amazing and special enough for me.

However, the best moment was the rally and the comeback win to bank the two points against a great team and a big win, on the biggest night.

The Barn was rocked and the Islanders won. Sign me up for that any day of the week.
