Plan to Develop Darnold

Yes, this is obvious, but it can’t be shouted loud enough.

This could be the beginning of a special time in the history of the Jets. After basically 50 years, the Jets finally have a quarterback.

Took them long enough.

It’s time to not allow Sam Darnold to fall to the same fate as Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith and countless other quarterbacks that were supposed to be “the guy”.

Whoever the Jets pick, be it a college coach or a pro one, must be able to tell the Jets brass how they plan to develop him. Just saying they are going to get it done is simply not good enough.

If I were handling the interview, I would hold up a picture of Darnold and say the following, “Tell me what you are going to do for this guy, and be specific.”

The next Jets coach must have a clear plan for the young quarterback and be able to articulate how they are going to execute it.

This cannot turn into a “same old Jets” situation. Darnold is too good and fans have waited far too long for this chance.

Pick the guy that is ready to make this happen, no matter who they are.
