Discipline

The Jets have lost all forms of discipline. It simply is not good. In 2018, the Jets were tied for eighth in the league with 114 penalties. That is over seven flags per game.

Unacceptable.

It’s not just the penalties, it’s the bad penalties. Remember Leonard Williams getting himself ejected? What a great penalty that was, huh? Don’t forget all of the drive extending penalties on the defense as well.

Gang Green was also -10 in turnover differential, good for 27th in the league. In case anyone didn’t notice, that is very bad also.

That also falls under the category of unacceptable.

Christopher Johnson and Mike Maccagnan have to find a coach that also believes that is unacceptable and has a clear plan to fix it. Todd Bowles, despite his attempts, was not getting through to the team.

That coach must have a track record of disciplined teams. It doesn’t mean he necessarily has to be a veteran NFL coach. Whatever level they have coached at, college or the pros, they must have a history of having disciplined teams.

Someone has to make this stop.
