With the New York Jets starting a very important head coaching search, we are keeping a running tracker of who they are bringing in to interview.

The New York Jets are getting into one of their most important off-seasons in a long time. It could arguably make or break the next decade in the history of this franchise.

Sam Darnold is going into the second year of his rookie contract. That gives the Jets 3-4 more years to put up a competitive team before they have to pay their quarterback. It’s a very important time in franchise history.

It’s going to start with finding the right coach. Todd Bowles has been fired. 24-40 over four years and it is time to move on. Time to find ourselves a new coach.

But who is it going to be? Where are the Jets going to go this time? There has been a lot of debate.

Some say experience, some say not. Some say coordinator, some say not. Some would like to see a college coach, some would not.

We can all make a good argument for where the team should go. It is not in dispute that they absolutely have to get it right.

Christopher Johnson has said they will be looking far and wide for the right candidate and the team is doing it on their own.

The list should be very interesting.

Here will be our official tracker. You can return to this article to see a list of all the coaches that the team has requested permission for, who is coming in, who isn’t…etc.

Let’s get to the list as we know it so far:

Mike McCarthy would appeal to the crowd that feels we need an experienced coach. McCarthy brings that as well as his time with Aaron Rodgers. The Packers were on a downhill swing as of late, but could the idea of working with Sam Darnold give McCarthy a bit of the fountain of youth?

The rest of this list so far isn’t that exciting. Monken could be interesting, but how good is he really? The Bucs offenses have had their moments with him but then they retreat to their mediocre selves.

Campbell was a popular out of the box thought so it’s a shame that he isn’t interested.

We will keep you posted as the names get leaked out to the public.
