Looking back on the 2018 New York Yankees, New York Giants, New York Knicks, and all New York teams
The New York Knicks in 2018
Breakdown
Although the New York Knicks struggled in 2017-18, it gave them somewhat of a path for the future.
The Knicks went on to have a fantastic draft, selecting Kevin Knox in the first round, Mitchell Robinson in the second and then signing an un-drafted free agent in Allonzo Trier.
When healthy, Kevin Knox has been great for the Knicks, averaging, at the time of this writing, 12 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists.
He has some serious potential and with the right supporting cast, the Knicks could seriously make some noise.
At the moment, the Knicks aren’t completely healthy and they don’t have the right players on the roster quite yet.
But in 2019, they may.
All three of these players are off to a fantastic start in the 2018-19 season, and when Kristaps Porzingis comes back the Knicks will have some serious potential.
These three, plus the emergence of Emmanuel Mudiay, have the Knicks trending in the right direction.
Even though they are off to a terrible start, and are one of the worst teams in the league right now, there is some promise.
The Knicks struggles this season will give them a high pick in the 2019 draft.
This could seriously help the Knicks with players such as RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson, Nassir Little and Cam Reddish set to be available.
The addition of any of these players, plus a healthy Kristaps Porzingis to this lineup, has some serious potential.
This entire year has been about what the future holds for the Knicks and they have taken a page out of the 76ers playbook in “Trust the Process”.
If the Knicks can manage to obtain a top five pick, you can expect them to seriously improve for the 2019 season and beyond.
Best moment
So in what appears to be a failed two seasons what is the top moment?
Well if you couldn’t guess, the Knicks top moment of 2018 was the 2018 draft.
They took Kevin Knox in the first round and Mitchell Robinson in the second round. Both are showing immense potential.
This draft gave Knicks fans some hope that they can do something correct and that they will make the right decisions in the future.
Seeing the Knicks will likely be in the lottery for at least the next two years, this is very good news.
The Knicks are trending in the right direction with Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson and Kristaps Porzingis on the way back.
