The New York Rangers in 2018

Breakdown

2018 for the New York Rangers was a fire sale.

The Rangers traded just about everyone to help them for the future.

In 2018, the New York Rangers traded everyone including Ryan McDonagh, Rick Nash, Ryan Graves, Michael Grabner and more.

The Rangers are rebuilding and each of these trades was to help them get on the right path.

The Rangers finished at the bottom of the Eastern Conference in 2017-18 with only 77 points.

This gave the Rangers the ninth overall pick which they then used to draft right-wing, Vitali Kravtsov out of Russia.

Kravtsov is still playing in the KHL, but once he makes the transition over to the NHL, you can expect him to make some huge waves.

In 33 games, Kravtsov had 17 points and he is showing some serious promise giving the Rangers a lot of hope and getting fans excited as can be.

The Rangers are a team that isn’t quite used to losing so rebuilding is very new for them, and something they want to get finished with as soon as possible, and Vitali Kravtsov could seriously help them get to that end goal.

Just like last season, the Rangers are among the bottom of the Eastern Conference and in 37 games they have only 39 points.

Led by players who aren’t well-known is also something rather new to the Rangers as they are used to having stars such as Ryan McDonagh skating around the ice.

But, just like last season, you can expect the Rangers to get a high draft pick which could significantly help them in the future.

Best moment

So in a rather dull year what was the Rangers top moment?

The Rangers top moment would be drafting Vitali Kravtsov with the ninth pick in the 2018 draft.

Vitali Kravtsov is someone who can help the Rangers in the future as mentioned above.

In only 33 games, he already has 17 points, and if that’s not saying something I don’t know what will.

Rangers fans should be excited because if this kid lives up to even half the hype, he is gonna be a fantastic player.

Drafting Kravstov was the cherry on top of the failed season that was the 2017-18 season.

Finishing with only 77 points is something that is unheard of to Rangers fans, but it is something that’ll help them for the future.
