New Year’s Resolutions for the New York Yankees and all local teams
New York Mets
For the first time in a long time, there is optimism around the Mets. Despite the poor performance in 2018, fans are a buzz and excited for the 2019 season to come.
Why? First of all the pitchers are still here. Jacob deGrom won his Cy Young award that he richly deserved and everyone behind him is still here. Noah Syndergaard and company are all ready to put in a big 2019.
The second reason is Brodie Van Wagenen. He has infused an excitement into this franchise that hasn’t been matched in ages.
He has gone for big fish and he has landed them. Wilson Ramos was a huge move, after the blockbluster trade that brought Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz into the fold.
Of course they have to do it on the field, but on paper this Mets team is light years better than it was when the season ended.
The biggest problem for this team over the last few years has been injuries. Whether we are talking about Yoenis Cespedes, starting pitchers, and everyone else, this team hasn’t been able to stay on the field.
So, here is the resolution for the Mets:
New Year’s Resolution: Figure out a way to way to stay healthy, whatever it takes.
