New York Giants: 3 Giants wins this year that impacted the NFL playoff picture
Giants vs Bears, Week 13
The Giants has no business winning this football game. Even though the Bears were without Mitchell Trubisky, the Bears’ defense is on a whole new level as opposed to the Giants offense.
The Giants still felt like the massive home under dogs. And despite going up against Chase Daniels, this game went to OT.
However, the Giants won the game for their second home win in a row.
Remember that score line, because it could be one of the handful of games that ends up deciding the difference between a first round bye or a home game in the Wild Card round.
The Bears’ other losses? To the Patriots, Dolphins in Miami, and the Packers.
The Dolphins are a better team than the Giants, so that loss is not as bad on the surface. However, still important to note.
But, had the Bears had Trubisky, or even had one more possession go their way in the Giants game, the Bears would be 12-3 instead of 11-4.
Right now, that is the difference between the three seed and the second, which would give them a bye.
The Giants used defensive turnovers, and a clutch defense, for really the first and only time all year, to beat the Bears.
When looking back as to how the Bears got to the playoffs, it is almost impossible not to wonder what would have been if the Bears did not lose this game.
Well done to the Giants for beating a great team and potentially knocking them out of an automatic bid to the Divisional round.
Giants fans should be proud.
