New York Knicks: The Knicks should trade for Jabari Parker
By Alex Jordan
Chicago Bulls forward Jabari Parker is looking for a trade and the New York Knicks should trade for him because he would be a great fit for them.
The New York Knicks are interested in trading for Chicago Bulls forward Jabari Parker.
The Knicks are one of the teams that are interested in Parker. However, they haven’t reached out to the Bulls about Parker, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.
Parker signed a two-year deal with the Bulls with a team option in the offseason.
However, the Bulls have taking Parker out of their regular rotation, according to Malika Andrews of ESPN.
The Bulls and Mark Bartelstein, Parker’s agent, have talked about trading Parker.
The Knicks should go after Parker and try to get him.
He would be a great fit for them and he would give them a lot of help since they are still without Kristaps Porzingis.
Parker would also give the Knicks depth at the forward position. Right now, the Knicks only small forwards are rookie Kevin Knox and Mario Hezonja.
This season, Parker is averaging 15.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 29.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The Bulls have the worst record in the NBA at the time this story broke.
The Knicks aren’t that much better as they are towards the cellar of the league standings themselves, but Parker has played better than Hezonja and could help the Knicks win games.
If the Knicks were to get Parker, who would they send to the Bulls?
The answer will most likely be Courtney Lee.
The Knicks want to move Lee’s contract, which has one year left after this season, according to Peter Botte of the New York Post.
Earlier this month, Lee was assigned to the G League’s Weschester Knicks to build up his trade value.
It’s obvious that the Knicks don’t want Lee anymore so he should be the player that they trade to get Parker.
If they don’t trade Lee to get Parker, they could trade Hezonja, or Trey Burke.
It makes sense for the Knicks to trade for Parker so they should do it.
