Their best play might have already happened.

The New York Rangers, and I’ll be the first to admit it, sort of looked like a playoff team at one point this season.

They would spend games at a time hanging onto that final playoff spot in the Metro Division.

With a furious youth movement, and winning games that went down to the wire, the Rangers were cooking.

The Rangers actually had a nine win November. Starting on Halloween, they had a stretch where they had points in seven straight games.

However, their October was terrible. They lost their first three games of the season and only had a four win month.

Then, they had that electric run in November like I mentioned.

What happens next? Yeah, this current stretch they are on in December so far.

The Rangers had their bye week essentially earlier this months so the December games have been few and far between. Up to this writing, the Rangers have had just six games in December.

They have just one win, which was a shootout in Florida on December 8.

So, the Rangers have been losing games and struggling for points more than they have been getting the full two.

It is highly unlikely, as we are learning, that they have another four game winning streak and seven game point streak again this season.

In the sample size we have had, which is based on of their 32 games played, the Rangers are 14-13-5. So, they have a winning record, but almost half their wins came in a single stretch.

That is not a bad thing for the Rangers. They were not expected to be this amazing team. They had a fantastic run. They are still above .500 technically, but they are coming back to Earth quick.

Although I am not writing the Rangers off, they need to start wining games again. Constantly losing overtime games and having a -12 differential will not get it done in this league.

So, I would predict that we have seen the best of the Rangers. But, at least they might hang on for a little bit longer.

They might have another run left in them late in the season.
